US cover art for Joe Abercrombie's RED COUNTRY

And a bit of a teaser:

Shy South comes home to her farm to find a blackened shell, her brother and sister stolen, and knows she’ll have to go back to her bad old ways if she’s ever to see them again. She sets off in pursuit with only her cowardly old stepfather Lamb for company. But it turns out he’s hiding a bloody past of his own. None bloodier.

Their journey will take them across the lawless plains, to a frontier town gripped by gold fever, through feuds, duels, and massacres, high into unmapped mountains to a reckoning with ancient enemies, and force them into alliance with Nicomo Cosca, infamous soldier of fortune, a man no one should ever have to trust
. . .

Can't wait!!!

I can't wait either, but I don't like the cover.

Alec : it has to be! "None bloodier" is too obvious a choice of word for... ah, shit, it means it's not him, and Abercrombie is just trolling us. :( lol.

I like the style of cover but I really liked Best Served Cold with the hot chick Monza on it. Both Heroes and this one have just been dudes arms with a sword. Kinda blah. I would rather a good full picture of Cosca or Logen or Shy. Not big on that hint of a face thing.

Awful cover. At first, I thought the name of the book was "RED COUNTRY JOE." They need to rethink those fonts.

It might just be wishful thinking, or I might be looking too hard, but I'm pretty sure I only see three fingers (and a thumb) on the top hand gripping the sword's hilt. Could it be the Bloody Nine . . .

It feels like they should have reduced the size or changed the position of of his first name on that cover. As it is, I initially read the title as "Red Country Joe".

OMG! Check the 20 second mark for a screaming announcement of the return of a certain character.
